Adult
Services

We provide personalized speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services for adults. Our clinicians support individuals experiencing communication or swallowing challenges related to stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), aphasia, neurodegenerative conditions, and other medical or neurological diagnoses.

Every treatment plan is tailored to the client’s unique strengths, needs, goals, and daily living. Services may focus on improving speech and language, memory, attention, problem-solving, organization, voice, swallowing safety, or the use of an alternative communication system.

Our goal is to help each client communicate more effectively, participate more fully in meaningful activities, and maintain the greatest possible level of independence. We collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to promote practical progress and carryover across home, work, and community settings.

Clinic

Our clinic-based services support adults with speech, language, fluency, voice, social communication, and swallowing difficulties. We also treat aphasia and cognitive-communication impairments resulting from stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and neurodegenerative diseases and disorders. The clinic offers a structured environment for individualized evaluation and treatment.

Home Health

Our home-based services help adults improve communication, cognition, and swallowing skills within their natural environment depending upon insurance. Treatment may address memory, attention, problem-solving, organization, speech, language, aphasia, and dysphagia. We incorporate strategies into meaningful daily activities and provide caregiver coaching to promote generalization, independence, and carryover.

Virtual

Our virtual services provide convenient, individualized treatment for speech, language, fluency, voice, aphasia, and cognitive-communication needs. Teletherapy is ideal for patients with busy schedules, transportation challenges, mobility limitations, or limited access to specialized services nearby. Swallowing support may also be provided virtually when clinically appropriate.

AAC

We provide Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services to help adults communicate more effectively using a system tailored to their abilities, needs, preferences, and daily environments.

11-Session AAC Evaluation Program

Our comprehensive 11-session program evaluates and trials low-tech, mid-tech, and high-tech communication options. Our AAC and Assistive Technology specialists carefully select the most appropriate communication system based on each adult's abilities, needs, preferences, daily activities, and environments. Recommendations consider the adult's communication and access needs, personal preferences, daily activities, and caregiver input.

The program also includes three follow-up consultation sessions. These sessions provide continued support to troubleshoot system or device issues, individualize and program the system as needed, and collaborate with other allied professionals involved in the client’s care.

Speech-Generating Device Services

Our insurance-based speech-generating device services provide individualized support for adults who need an alternative or supplement to verbal communication. Therapy focuses on teaching patients and caregivers how to use the device, programming personally relevant vocabulary, and modifying the system as the patient's needs and abilities change.
